Grade Level (for internal use): 09 About the Role: S&P Global Energy is seeking a reporter to cover the energy transition in North America, focusing on carbon markets, electrification and other emerging energy developments. The position will also involve coverage of power markets in the United States and Canada. Responsibilities and Impact: Cover emerging energy markets, including hydrogen pricing trends, carbon capture and storage developments, and carbon auction coverage. Lead electric vehicle policy reporting across US and Canada federal and state levels. Report on state and provincial net-zero policy developments. Deliver differentiated reporting on renewable energy certificates and compliance. Support key daily power and energy transition publications. The Impact : Your focus on the energy transition and the businesses that enable it will produce critical insights on many of the defining questions of the decades ahead. Your thought-provoking news and analysis will be distributed across major S&P Global platforms. Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $95,000 . Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. Requirements
- Basic Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional journalism experience.
- Strong writing and reporting skills, along with excellent news judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute story ideas.
- Knowledge of power and environmental markets.
- Demonstrated analytical and data visualization experience.
- Experience participating in panels, podcasts and other media.
