Job Title : Electrical Product Engineering Manager Reporting To: Manager Sr., Elect Engineering Work Schedule: Onsite - Buffalo, NY Moog is looking for an Electrical Product Engineering Manager to lead the Electrical Product Engineer team for Commercial Aircraft in East Aurora NY. In this role, you will organize, allocate, direct and motivate the resources of this group to provide high quality engineering work. The product engineering team is responsible for development and sustainment of the build and test of Moog designed products. Moog Aircraft Group is the leader of advanced flight controls for commercial aircraft. We are positioned on virtually every aircraft in the marketplace, supplying reliable systems that are highly supportable and add significant value for our customers. Moog designs, manufactures and integrates precision motion control components and systems. Our high-performance solutions are used in satellites and space vehicles, military and commercial aircraft, launch vehicles, missiles, industrial machinery, marine applications, and medical equipment. As an Electrical Product Engineering Manager, you will... Lead and manage the product engineering staff matrixed across concurrent development programs. Manage a collaborative innovation environment to challenging development objectives. Perform a variety of direct employee management and supervisory functions including hiring, training, allocating resources, supervision, and growing highly skilled technical personnel through on-going performance and development reviews. Be responsible for resource management to EVMS schedules. Identify strategic and budgetary control opportunities relating to engineering estimates, development lifecycle performance, and outstanding development risk to schedule and cost performance. Lead engineering process development through maturation of process standards, templates, specifications, and automation to increase the process consistency, replicability, and efficiency. Monitor first pass yield for both build and test, working with the teams to drive for increased efficiency. Monitor non-conformance performance, working with the teams to reduce defects. Work with supply chain to understand product transitions and provide support. Monitor electronic obsolescence of production programs and perform zero date calculations and execute last time buys. Travel 10% domestically and/or internationally. To be considered for the Electrical Product Engineering Manager position, here are the skills you will bring with you... Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering 7 or more years of professional Electrical Engineering work experience Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Citizen Demonstrated competence and technical understanding of hardware design, development and testing applications Preferred Qualifications Include... Managerial experience supervising a team of Engineers. Familiarity with the design life cycle including design, qualification, and certification of electronics for aircraft applications Experience in the aerospace industry Self‑starter willing to make sound decisions and initiate action without prior counseling or direction. Possess the technical knowledge and the personal integrity required to earn the respect of subordinates. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate at all levels within Moog and at the customer/vendor level.
