Responsibilities

  • Assist with the differentiated delivery of the curriculum and provide feedback on progress to teaching staff and the SENCO.
  • Support individuals and groups of pupils to complete structured learning activities.

  • A caring approach, professional outlook and flexible attitude to work.
  • Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work occasionally outside of contracted hours.
  • NVQ Level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post (desirable).
  • Experience of supporting pupils with speech, language and communication needs, or ASD (desirable).

Learning Support Assistant 31.5 hours per week | Fixed Term Contract (1 academic year) | Term Time + INSET | Salary: National Living Wage | Reporting to: Lead SENDCo | Start: September 2026 The Learning Support Assistant will work collaboratively with teaching staff to meet the personal, social and curriculum needs of a pupil with an EHCP. The post-holder will encourage pupils to become independent learners, provide support for their welfare, and promote the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area, including supporting during exams, co-curricular lunchtime activities, and school trips.
