TITLE: Intake and Eligibility Specialist REPORTS TO: Project Director LOCATION: San Luis Obispo County, CA EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Employee Career Team is looking to hire an Intake and Eligibility Specialist who will serve as the first point of contact for customers accessing workforce services at the America's Job Center. This role is essential to delivering a welcoming, organized, and participant-centered experience. The day-to-day functions of this role include customer intake, resource navigation, workshop coordination, and front-line support across WIOA-funded programs. In addition, this position will perform one stop operation duties in San Luis Obispo County. Your Impact on Career Team's Success: Serve as the primary initial liaison between customers and center services, ensuring all visitors feel welcomed and supported from the moment they arrive Conduct intake screening and assist customers in completing eligibility documentation, online assessments, and enrollment processes in accordance with WIOA and program requirements Triage customer needs and connect individuals to appropriate staff, services, and community resources with a high standard of customer care Deliver presentations and orientations in person and virtually to inform customers about available services and program benefits Maintain symbiotic relationships with partner organizations Develop and maintain workshop schedules, coordinate partner participation, and manage room scheduling to meet the needs of career seekers Provide resume feedback, letter of introduction guidance, and job search assistance in the resource room Re-engage customers who have not completed enrollment or are awaiting services by proactively communicating program opportunities and next steps Train career seekers and staff on Career Team and Center resources, tools, and systems Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming resource area and coordinate general office activities Request and document customer feedback to support continuous improvement of the participant experience Coordinate service delivery among required partners Align services from various partners to avoid duplication and ensure customer flow Ensure agreements are active and understood by partners Identify technical assistance needs Maintain accurate records, case notes, and documentation in required data systems in compliance with program standards Perform other duties and projects as assigned This position is expected to be 100% onsite at the assigned location To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have: Associate's degree required, or a comparable combination of education and experience Ability to listen actively, analyze customer needs, and apply sound judgment to recommend solutions and appropriate next steps Must be computer literate and have MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn Google Suite as well as specialized databases and software systems Knowledge of WIOA and other workforce program requirements Posses neutrality and objectivity Experienced in resolutions expertise Data driven and accountable Strong operational acumen Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base with sensitivity, respect, and professionalism Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with standard office equipment including computers, printers, and fax machines Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and confidential Commitment to extreme customer service in all internal and external interactions Approach each day and task with a solutions-oriented and responsive mindset A Valid Driver's License Additional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This Role: Bilingual or multilingual Strong multitasking abilities and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach Training in Trauma Informed Care, evidence-based practice, and empathy-driven service delivery Salary : $52,000 - $54,500 Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
