About the role

Assistant Manager - Process Engineering is responsible for continuous improvement initiatives in Production department in terms of quality, quantity and safety, Key Responsibilities to perform Process Validations. Overseas day-to-day manufacturing operations, supervising a team of operations associates. Responsible for selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to maintain a high-performing team. Communicates with both internal and external contacts to provide support, engage others, and ensure alignment with operational goals.

Requirements

  • Education: B.E Chemical Eng. /Diploma in Chemical Engineering or any other equivalent discipline
  • Experience: 5 - 6 years of experience in production in Chemical manufacturing company (preferably solvent handling company)
  • Knowledge of chemistry and chemical engineering
  • Working knowledge of and experience in separation technologies, distillation, purification, unit operations and process improvements,
  • Working knowledge of financial/ cost systems and standard operating procedures/ process
  • Ability to understand analytical procedures, quantify analytical results, and make adjustments/ corrections as needed
  • Knowledge of inorganic chemistry, Lean Principles, quality tools such as SPC and application of Root Cause Analysis
  • Ability to understand process and mechanical drawing and TQ concepts/ tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with effective communication, teamwork, innovation, and time management abilities.
  • How you will thrive and create an impact:
  • Work with the Production and Quality Team to implement business improvement plans.
  • Accountable for Product quality, Process Improvement initiatives, Process Design Control, Process Validation, Productivity Projects, Handling of non-conforming product & disposition, training/ skill usage of hourly employees and production variances.
  • Lead and coordinate compliance with safety, environment, MOC, OSHA and cGMP standards.
  • Responsible for tracking process reliability and implementing process improvements, investigating corrective and preventive actions, assisting with customer complaint responses and implementations, developing batch production records and ensuring work instructions.
  • Work in conjunction with plant engineering, Global / Regional R&D and marketing to introduce new products.
  • Work in conjunction with quality assurance to develop and implement policies and procedures for regulated and non-regulated production.
  • Develop and implement metrics such as OEE to monitor and improve performance of equipment and product quality
  • Support production department whenever needed in managing workforce. Will also, develop, assign and implement capital projects
  • Participate on multifunctional project teams such as product growth, global strategic planning, forecasting, etc.
  • Perform the defined tasks in order to comply with and maintain the sites ISO 9000/1400 certification and all regulatory requirements which include, but are not limited to cGMP, EPA, OSHA, DOE and any other applicable local, governmental and company guidelines.
  • Direct contractors and maintenance employees to install equipment and make process modifications.
  • Interface with marketing, customer service and customers; establishes routine communication between each of these groups and the business.
  • Participate in HAZOP analysis, Safety audits, Risk assessment for all the process activities. Also, will Utilize Lean methodology.
  • Member of emergency response team and will guide and train other team members in case of emergency and will also assist departments in trouble shooting process problems.
  • Train and supervise the working of all operators/executives in the department.
  • Monitor waste disposal and look for measures/ changes to reduce waste.
  • Actively participate and support department cost saving and process improvement teams.
