TARGET CLOSE DATE: 12/31/2026 PAY GRADE: TYPE: Part time JOB SUMMARY: The Birmingham Police Department is seeking APOSTC-certified law enforcement officers to serve as Part-Time Police Officers for special events. These part-time positions will primarily focus on providing police services for special events within the City of Birmingham, including but not limited to athletic events, concerts, festivals, and other large community-engagement events/activities. Part-time Police Officers are expected to enforce state and federal laws while maintaining a safe and secure environment for participants, citizens, and visitors. Part-Time Police Officers for special events are required to work a minimum of three events per year. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Compensation will be based on experience and may range from $25.33/hour to $37.43/hour.
