Job Summary The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) works with people who experience serious mental illness and acts as a role model of recovery. CPS provides group and/or individual training and counseling, as well as service coordination, support for community linkage, and advocacy support to meet individual needs. Assists with completion of Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP). May work in a clinic, peer program, or community setting. QUALIFICATIONS Position Focus : This role will primarily serve youth and young adults ages 14-25. The ideal candidate is passionate about empowering young people in their recovery journey, skilled in building rapport with adolescents and emerging adults, and comfortable working in a collaborative behavioral health setting focused on resilience, stability, and long-term success. Minimum Requirements : High school diploma or GED required Current Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) certification through the Georgia DBHDD/Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network required Minimum of two (2) years of lived and/or professional experience supporting individuals with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and/or substance use disorders required Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification required
