Supervisory Personnel Psychologist

About the role

This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for providing executive leadership and strategic direction for the overall operations of the Defense Testing Assessment Center (DTAC), serving as the senior personnel psychologist overseeing ASVAB programs. You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Demonstrated experience as a nationally or internationally recognized expert in personnel psychology, psychometrics, and measurement, particularly in the areas of computerized adaptive testing and item response theory. Proven experience directing and managing a large-scale, complex testing and assessment organization or program with a substantial annual budget. Experience leading and conducting high-level, original research in psychometrics, test development, and personnel assessment, resulting in significant contributions to the field (e.g., publications, presentations at scientific societies). Experience supervising senior-level technical and professional staff, including setting strategic direction, managing performance, and overseeing complex research and development projects. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 0180 series.
