Additional Information

The world still has coverage blind spots. You could help eliminate them at Skylo. Skylo has pioneered a standards-based approach to satellite connectivity. We connect smartphones and IoT devices directly to satellites. No special hardware, no entirely new networks. Just billions of existing devices, suddenly reachable anywhere on Earth. We're not building toward this future. We're already in it. Our direct-to-device service is live on millions of activated devices across five continents, covering more than 72 million square kilometers, in partnership with leading satellite operators, mobile network operators, Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs worldwide. And we're just getting started. At the heart of it all is Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN: a 3GPP standards-based, cloud-native platform that seamlessly bridges terrestrial and satellite networks. It's the infrastructure that makes true anywhere, anytime connectivity possible. When you join Skylo, you'll work at the intersection of three markets reshaping how the world stays connected: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT. Enabling people outdoors and critical workflows in the world's most remote places. This is a rare chance to work on technology that matters, at a company that's already proving it works This role is located in Bangalore, India where we are onsite at least 3 days a week in the office. Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo We are looking for an experienced Telecom Billing SME to design, implement, and optimize our billing systems that support telecom services. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining platforms that manage mediation, rating, charging, invoicing, and revenue assurance. This role requires both strong software engineering skills and deep domain knowledge of telecom billing and OSS/BSS systems. How You Will Contribute Billing & Charging Systems Strong understanding of billing system architecture - rating engines, charging logic, mediation pipelines, and invoicing lifecycle design. Experience designing or building systems that process usage events at scale - CDR/EDR-equivalent records, metered usage, or event-driven billing. Hands-on experience with relational databases and data modeling for billing (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL). Familiarity with real-time vs. batch billing tradeoffs and how charging systems interact with CRM, provisioning, and ERP platforms. Understanding of revenue assurance principles: reconciliation, leakage detection, and audit controls. Telecom billing context (preferred, or willingness to learn): Familiarity with telecom-specific constructs: prepaid/postpaid/hybrid models, OCS/CCS charging, voice/SMS/data rating. Exposure to mediation systems and telecom-grade CDR processing. Awareness of OSS/BSS stack components (Amdocs, CSG, NetCracker, Oracle BRM, or equivalent) - direct hands-on experience a plus but not required. Invoicing & Revenue Assurance Manage the full invoicing lifecycle: invoice generation, delivery, dispute handling, and credit/debit note processing for both retail and wholesale customers. Ensure billing accuracy, reconciliation, and prevention of revenue leakage across retail and wholesale streams. Collaborate with finance and audit teams to meet regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., TRAI, FCC, GDPR). Implement controls for taxation, settlement, and interconnect billing. System Integration & Performance Integrate billing platforms with ERP, CRM, partner settlement systems, and payment gateways. Optimise performance for large-scale, high-volume transaction environments typical of NTN/satellite IoT deployments. Build APIs and services to support product launches, customer self-service portals, and partner billing portals. Implement monitoring and automation for billing workflows and financial reporting. Collaboration & Leadership Work closely with product and business teams to support new pricing models, bundles, promotions, and wholesale partner agreements. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in telecom billing engineering. Participate in architectural discussions and roadmap planning for billing modernisation. Wholesale & Roaming Billing (Preferred) Deep understanding of wholesale billing architectures covering inter-carrier settlements, MNO/MVNO partner billing, and NTN roaming frameworks. Familiarity with end-to-end roaming billing pipelines: CDR/TAP3 record structures, TADIG-compliant record exchange, GSMA RAP dispute flows, and Near Real-Time Roaming Data Exchange (NRTRDE/TD.32) for fraud detection and near-real-time usage visibility. Knowledge of Data Clearing House (DCH) architecture and processes - including TAP3/RAP file validation, routing, NRTRDE file handling, and bilateral/multilateral clearing with partner operators. Understanding of Financial Clearing House (FCH) settlement flows - including IOT (Inter-Operator Tariff) calculations and reconciliation processes. Familiarity with BCE principles
