JOB SUMMARY The Centralized Surgery Scheduler encompasses a comprehensive array of responsibilities tailored to the coordination of highly specialized surgical procedures. This entails expertise in scheduling and authorizing intricate surgical interventions, such as neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, or orthopedic procedures, necessitating an in-depth understanding of specialized equipment, resources, and pre-operative protocols. Additionally, the role requires advanced proficiency in insurance verification specifically for surgical interventions, navigating complex insurance plans, and understanding coverage nuances for specialized treatments. A key aspect of the position involves conducting thorough assessments of medical necessity for surgeries, appointments, and procedures, particularly for specialized treatments, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize reimbursement.
