Responsibilities

  • Maintain Operational Excellence:
  • Understand the processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from time of purchase order issuance through the delivery of the cargo.

  • Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Graduate Degree/equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in global freight forwarding operations and/or import or export operations
  • Proficiency in English to support a portfolio of global customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in a global business environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven track record of strong customer service skills, including interacting with customers and maintaining a client-focused approach
  • High attention to detail, critical-thinking, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to adapt to ever-changing tasks and customer needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment

C.H. Robinson is seeking an Ocean Freight Operations Executive or Global Forwarding Agent (GFA) to join the global freight forwarding team in Malaysia. In this role, you will be managing a portfolio of global customers as their primary point of contact, responsible for managing and operating the shipment lifecycle of their import shipments. You'll work closely with customers from the start of the shipment process, overseeing tasks for each shipment, in addition to daily communication, reporting, and email management. A successful Global Forwarding Agent thrives in a fast-paced environment, finding swift resolutions to transportation and documentation problems.
