About the role
Quality Assurance (QA) Specialists assist REE Medical in providing quality medical evidence for VA disability claims. A QA Specialist is responsible for reviewing and confirming that medical evidence, or Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs), are accurately and thoroughly completed. Successful QA Specialists are detail-oriented, quick learners, excellent editors, and individuals that enjoy and appreciate repetition. Duties/Responsibilities: Update and review finalized DBQs to confirm that all information vital to the validity of the evidence is appropriately complete. Review and understand the VA's Rating Schedule to determine disability rating requirements and what rating criteria veterans' conditions align with. Verify that the DBQs meet projection per VA Rating Schedule criteria. Ensure that veterans' files are complete and send approved DBQs. Address staff, provider, and veteran questions related to DBQ content and file status updates. Meet or exceed the goal of reviewing quality content at a consistent, productive pace. Work independently on a day-to-day basis with support from a remote team. Accurately maintain a daily productivity log. Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with veterans, contracted providers, and staff. Effectively execute written or verbal instructions. Required Skills/Experience: Excited by the idea of hyper focusing to review hundreds of pages of medical documents daily Excellent attention to detail Self-motivated: ability to self-teach using written and video guides as references Highly organized and confident in time management skills Strong written and verbal communication Strong appreciation for checklists Comfortable navigating and utilizing multiple computer programs simultaneously (i.e. a CRM, Monday.com , Salesforce, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and cloud-based file sharing systems). Basic system training will be provided. Experience using Microsoft Office. Adept in downloading/uploading programs, files, and technology-based systems. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Understanding of the VA's Rating Schedule and/or familiarity with veteran disability claims (preferred) Administrative experience in the medical field may be helpful (i.e. scribe work, transcription, medical record maintenance, etc.).
