Product Engineering Internship

About the role

Location: In-person, San Francisco ASAP Type: Internship Overlap builds AI video agents for media companies. We help teams automatically edit and post the best moments from long-form video and audio. We work with customers including iHeart Media, Barstool Sports, Yahoo, Almost Friday, The Volume, ARN, NZME , and many others. Together, our customers represent a major share of the podcast publishing and digital media space. The Role We're looking for a Product Engineering Intern who wants to ship fast, work directly with customers, and build AI agents that get used in production. You'll work across the product, frontend, backend, and agent layers of Overlap. This is a high-ownership role where you'll turn customer requests into shipped product quickly. You should be excited to ship several features, fixes, or product improvements per day . This person has likely felt like, as AI tools advanced, they are finally able to actualize their vision efficiently when building products; they likely have great design sense and find poorly designed products frustrating. What You'll Do Build and ship product features across our web app, backend, and AI workflows Create and improve agents for clipping, editing, posting, analysis, and automation Fix bugs quickly based on real customer feedback Work directly with major media customers to understand their workflows Collaborate with the founding team on product design and implementation Move fast from idea → prototype → shipped product What We're Looking For Strong full-stack engineering ability Experience building AI agents, LLM tools, or workflow automation Great product intuition and attention to detail Ability to ship fast without perfect specs Comfort talking to customers and translating feedback into product High ownership, high agency, and low ego Willingness to work in-person in San Francisco Bonus Points Experience with Next.js, React, Python, Firebase, or Google Cloud Experience with video, audio, social media, or creator tools Experience designing clean interfaces in Figma or directly in code Prior startup, hackathon, or 0→1 product experience Why Join Overlap Work at a high-growth YC-backed AI startup Build products used by some of the largest media companies in the world Work on real AI agents in production, not demos Ship constantly and see your work used immediately Join a small team where your work has obvious impact Apply Send us what you've built.
