- Manages day-to-day staffing needs of the area to ensure the unit is able to meet patient care needs.
- Provides leadership in quality metrics for the assigned area.
- Uses advanced knowledge and critical thinking skills to perform the parts of the nursing process.

Requirements
- Required Education and Experience
- License and Certification Requirement
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and
- Certification or eligibility for Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time nursing experience in an oncology support setting; or
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time nursing experience in an acute care support setting; or
- Associate's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time nursing experience in an oncology support setting; or
- Associate's degree in Nursing and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time nursing experience in an acute care support setting.
- NOTE:
- Incumbents must obtain and maintain applicable certification, as required by area of specialty, within eighteen (18) months of appointment to this position as a condition of continued employment in this title.
- As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
- Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
- The ideal candidate will have f our or more years of oncology and/or intensive care unit (ICU) nursing experience and a current CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification.
