About This Role Join Crusoe as an Early-Career Manufacturing Engineer and help build the foundation for our production facility optimization. While our design teams create the 3D models for modular integrated electronics buildings and power distribution equipment, you will focus on the practical application of how these products come to life. This role serves as a vital entry point between engineering design and the factory floor. You will assist in designing efficient plant layouts, support throughput optimization, and provide daily production support to ensure we meet our manufacturing goals with safety and precision. You will be an active participant in the product lifecycle, learning to provide manufacturability feedback and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives on the line. What You'll Be Working On Plant Layout & Process Support: Assist in updating manufacturing floor layouts to improve material flow and ensure safe operator movements. Throughput & Data Analysis: Help perform time studies and analyze production data to identify bottlenecks; assist in implementing process improvements to balance assembly lines. Metrics Reporting: Support the tracking of key performance indicators, including First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE). DFMA Participation: Support Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) reviews by documenting feedback from the factory floor to help simplify assembly. Work Instructions: Develop and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly instructions to ensure consistent quality. Tooling Assistance: Assist in the identification and design of manufacturing aids, jigs, and fixtures to improve ergonomics and safety. Production Support: Help resolve real-time manufacturing issues and participate in root cause analysis for process deviations. What You'll Bring to the Team Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 0-2 years of experience; internship or senior project experience in a manufacturing or electromechanical environment is highly preferred. CAD Proficiency: Basic proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks or SketchUp) for layout and fixture design. Lean Foundational Knowledge: Academic or practical exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, etc.). Technical Understanding: Familiarity with metal fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly processes. Problem Solving: A first-principles approach to solving technical problems and a desire to work with data-driven analysis. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for 8 hours or more daily to support floor operations. Safety and Compliance: This is a safety-sensitive position; participation in a drug and alcohol program is required. Bonus Points Exposure to Plant Simulation software or modeling tools. EIT certification or foundational Six Sigma training (Green Belt). Experience or coursework related to ERP/MRP software for managing BOMs. A strong drive to learn and a proactive attitude toward improving manufacturing processes.
