About the role

EEGT/Preceptor assists in provision of care to patients Demonstrates ability to perform equipment set-up and monitoring under direct supervision of R. EEGT/Preceptor Assists R.EEGT/Preceptor with direct patient care as follows: Assists with neurodiagnostic procedures by preparing and setting up equipment Anticipates equipment/supply needs for the admission of discharge of patients in the routine EEG lab and also in the EMU. Sets-up and removes supplies and equipment from patient room for next admission Responds according to hospital procedure in emergency situations Demonstrates skill in use of EEG/LTM monitoring equipment Assists with work in the department, equipment room and EEG tech review area Professionalism/Leadership Demonstrates high standards of professionalism by maintaining a professional image in all they do Accepts instruction/guidance from preceptor and other clinically advanced personnel Participates in evaluation of self, peers, and leaders Incorporates into practice recommendations of evaluation by self, peers, and leaders Practice contributes towards achieving department based goals Demonstrates appearance and behaviors that promote a positive image of the Neurodiagnostic Department Address patients and colleagues with respect and dignity Arrives at work on time and is ready to start the shift Learning Identifies own learning needs and obtains necessary education to meet requirements of position, Examines successes and failures to improve performance Participates in identifying and meeting own learning needs Applies education and training to daily work to enhance job knowledge and skills

Requirements

  • Specialized Diploma Enrolled in an Accredited Neurodiagnostic school
  • Measuring and applying EEG electrodes according to the 10-20 rule.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED - American Heart Association
