Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Child Development, Youth Work, or related disciplines
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to engage and support students with additional needs
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Preferred (not mandatory):
• Certified Practitioner in Restorative Practice / Building Relational Capacity
• At least 2 years of experience in social service sector or school-based youth work
• Experience working with children and youth in community or school settings

Working Hours During school term, up to 16 hours per week, subject to a maximum of 64 hours per month, based on the school's needs and requirements: Monday (Full day): 8.00am to 5.00pm (inclusive of 60 minutes' break) Wednesday (Morning): 9.00am to 1.30pm (inclusive of 30 minutes' break) Thursday (Morning): 8.00am to 12.30pm (inclusive of 30 minutes' break) Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, and school holidays. The school may adjust the Personnel's work schedule where necessary to meet operational needs and support students. 💰 Salary& Hourly Rate Monthly salary (pro-rated): $1,700 - $2,200 per month Estimated hourly rate: $26.50 - $34.40 per hour (based on maximum 64 working hours per month) Job Responsibilities The Youth Worker will support the engagement and development of Students with Additional Needs, including student development processes, restorative practices and mediation sessions. 1. Provide targeted intervention and support for identified Students with Additional Needs through regular monitoring and collaboration with Student Development Team and teachers. Develop students' social-emotional (SE) competencies (e.g., self-awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and responsible decision making). Support students' academic participation by reinforcing learning routines, motivation, and help-seeking behaviours. Strengthen students' executive functioning (EF) skills, including organisation, task initiation, goal-setting, and perseverance. Equip students with strategies such as practical skills and knowledge in enhancing their self-regulation, conflict resolution techniques and social emotional competencies. Build positive relationships between school, students, and families to strengthen home-school collaboration. Develop students' social and communication skills to enable positive peer interactions and collaborative learning. Support any other duties/programmes given by the school's Student Development Team. Student Services Hub Management and Engagement To manage the Tree House / Student Services Hub during stipulated hours ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students. To connect with identified students by the Student Development Team on a regular basis over a prolonged duration, build positive relationships and contribute to the holistic development of the students. To provide socio-emotional support during curriculum hours if students are unable to integrate back to class or catch up due to absences or suspension. To plan and conduct intervention programmes customised to students' needs and aligned to the school's efforts in character development after school, which include but not limited to: Academic support programme Mentoring programme Engagement programme Observation, Reporting and Programme Review To observe/identify and document the key needs of the students and to report such cases to the Student Development Team officers overseeing programme and School Leaders for further intervention and support. To provide feedback on students' needs, programme experience and concerns, so that the school can better support the students. To conduct review of the engagement programme at the end of each term and recommend improvements for future implementation. To conduct themselves professionally in their interactions with the students and school personnel, and work with Student Development Team in supporting the students. To practise the areas of responsibilities and behaviour during all his or her school engagements as listed in Annex C - Expectations of Instructor. Any other duties assigned by the school during the stipulated working hours.
