Description of Work We are seeking a reliable and caring Food Service Assistant to join our dietary team. This role is vital in helping prepare and serve meals to the residents of Black Mountain Neuro Medical Treatment Center (BMNTC) while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment by meeting and exceeding sanitation standards as outlined in the NC Food Code. Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Recruitment Range: $31,200.00 - $46,991.00 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking, and baking procedures. Basic knowledge of appropriate methods of cleaning and sanitizing equipment and small wares. Ability to maintain high sanitation standards as outlined in the NC Food Code. Ability to follow oral and written instructions; efficiently and accurately complete department records and documentation as required. Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor for extended periods of time. Minimum Education and Experience Education and/or experience in food service that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade. ABOUT BLACK MOUNTAIN NEURO-MEDICAL TREATMENT CENTER: Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of our residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living. OUR MISSION STATEMENT: We are a specialized long-term care facility focusing on maintaining quality of life and dignity for adults with neurocognitive or neurodevelopmental disorders with coexisting complex medical and behavioral needs whose level of support extends beyond that which can be provided in family or community living settings.
