Responsibilities
- Help build the team. You'll screen and interview candidates for Strategist roles, give clear hiring input, and own the onboarding of new Strategists into your group. The team you inherit is the team you've helped pick.
- Make the function repeatable. You'll spot the workflow friction that keeps showing up, document what good looks like, and contribute to SOPs that let us scale without diluting the work. When the Director kicks off process work, you're a meaningful part of executing it.
- Time breakdown
- Roughly how the week shakes out:
- 50%: Client delivery on your own book
- 20%: 1:1s, coaching, feedback, and performance conversations
- 15%: Selective QA and quality oversight across your team's accounts
- 10%: Hiring, onboarding, and process work
- 5%: Cross-functional collaboration, internal meetings, and your own development
Requirements
- You're a senior Strategist ready to lead. Or a leader who still wants their hands on the strategy. The role is built for someone who genuinely wants both, not someone using management as an escape route from the craft.
- You lead by being direct. You give hard feedback without making it heavier than it needs to be. You follow up on the things you said you'd follow up on. You don't let performance issues drift in the hope they'll resolve themselves.
- Your strategic instincts are sharp. You read GSC, GA4, Ahrefs, and competitive data and form a clear point of view fast. You understand how organic search ties into the broader business. You can tell the difference between a deliverable that ranks and one that actually moves the business.
- You hold the line under pressure. You stay organized enough that quality oversight doesn't slip when delivery gets heavy.
- AI is already part of how you work. You've built it into your workflow, you push your tools further than most, and you bring that energy to the people around you.
- You care deeply about how people grow. Developing Strategists is the work, not the thing you do between client meetings. The capability of the people you lead matters to

If you're looking for a role where you'll tackle challenging problems, work with ambitious brands, and help shape the future of organic growth, let's talk. Learn about the principles that drive how we work and build a company. About this role We're hiring a Team Lead in Organic Growth Strategy: someone who can run a small group of Strategists while still owning their own book of clients. The split is 50/50 by design. Leadership here doesn't graduate you out of the work - it's done alongside it, by people who still ship great work themselves. Our Strategy function has scaled to the size where leadership needs to sit close to the work. Team Leads are how we keep quality and team health intact as we grow. You'll be one of two reporting into the Director of Organic Growth Strategy, with a small group of Strategists looking to you for coaching, QA, and direction. This is a hands-on role. You'll still be doing strategy, QA, and client work - just at half the volume so you can develop the people doing the same. If you want a route out of the craft and into pure management, this is the wrong job.
