The AECOM East Region is seeking a Senior Government Relations individual for the New York Metro market to build and manage relationships with state and local elected officials and agencies. This individual will lead high-impact initiatives across AECOM business lines, to include business growth, market development, public policy, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational and communications skills and a deep understanding of the regulatory and political landscape impacting infrastructure, design, sustainability, and construction in the New York Metro region. The role will focus on government and community relations supporting the transportation business line as well as water, buildings and places, program management, and advisory services. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of New York and New Jersey state and local budget, procurement, and contracting policies. The position requires extensive analytical work tracking government processes, developing political engagement strategies, and pre-positioning AECOM with key stakeholders and decision-makers. The position includes roles in shaping the firm's long-term strategy in the region, in close coordination with AECOM's Corporate Government Relations team, in driving region-wide geopolitical relationships and business growth at the state and local level.
