Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and three years' experience in natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, e.g., media, government officials, other TNC scientists.
- Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
- Experience with communication via written, spoken and graphical means in English.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Valid driver's license.
- Salary Information:
- $94,000 - $105,000 plus superannuation

What We Can Achieve Together: Conservation Officers develop, manage and implement conservation projects at TNC Australia. They report to Conservation Coordinators and assist them in successful project management and delivery, that may be restricted to a particular area or discipline. Conservation Officers implement a discreet conservation project/s at TNC Australia. We're Looking for You: Conservation Officers address critical threats to natural systems and individual species, foster cross-site learning among conservation communities and supply conservation planning teams with site or landscape level information relevant to the planning and reporting process. They implement conservation tactics in situ and employ a full range of tools and methodologies to contribute to our protection, climate change, restoration, and improved habitat management targets. Responsibilities and Scope: Perform tasks with minimal supervision and make independent decisions based on analysis, experience, and context. Ensure project compliance with internal policies and external requirements including complex contract management. Gain cooperation from internal and external parties to accomplish project goals. This may include engagement with community stakeholders, Indigenous communities, trustees, and donors. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.
