ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned. Financial - Develop and maintain systems and procedures for evaluating financial activities. - Manage audit schedule for financial and 401(k) data and provide third party with details. - Prepare reports that summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past and present. - Determine depreciation rates to apply to capitol assets. - Manage 401(k) and profit-sharing programs. - Manage expense account program. - Manage data and report as required by regulatory agencies. - Manage accounts payables. Review data for accuracy, correct data if necessary and post records. Create checks and manage payment to vendors. - Manage accounts receivable. Review data for accuracy, correct data if necessary and post records. Reconcile bank statements to general ledger. - Review inventory transactions daily for items that look unusual. Work with appropriate departments to review and/or correct areas of concern. Insurance - Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against property, liability, workers compensation, losses and potential liabilities. Control related documentation. Payroll - Direct payroll functions. Review data for accuracy and make corrections as necessary. - Maintain records to ensure sales personnel receive their commissions in a timely fashion. Supervision - Train, assign and direct work, evaluate, reward and discipline accounting employees. - Assign and direct IT contractors work to ensure computer and network systems security and reliability. Food Safety - All employees are required to understand and follow all Quality Food Safety Management System (QFSMS) policies and procedures. In addition, employees are responsible for reporting problems with the QFSMS to a supervisor or manager. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree from a college or university and 5-7 years of related experience required. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups all levels of employees, vendors, and customers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages. Ability to effectively operate a 10-key calculator. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. The ability to retain confidential information is critical in this position. COMPUTER SKILLS: The ability to work effectively in a Microsoft Windows environment (word, excel, various databases) and create and maintain spreadsheets is essential. Experience with ERP systems is advantageous. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is climate-controlled year around. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. The following personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to be worn at all times when performing in this role while on the manufacturing floor: safety glasses and hearing protection. Food Safety protective equipment is required at all times while on the manufacturing floor: including hair nets, gloves and, if applicable, beard nets.
