Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, or a related field, with at least 30 semester hours of coursework in natural, physical, or environmental applied sciences Please attach a copy of your unofficial transcripts to your application (failure to do so will result in your application being removed from consideration) Other Requirements Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire Must be certified as a Visible Emissions Evaluator by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality within six months of hire May be required to pass a physical examination We Also Value Bilingual skills in Spanish and English Job Contributions Inspects and investigates dust sources, industrial , and commercial air pollution sources, and related control equipment in the field to determine compliance with air quality rules , regulations , and permit conditions Prepare s detailed inspection reports and enforcement case documentation in accordance with department procedures. Accurately enter s and maintain s inspection, complaint, and enforcement data in the department's database system to ensure data integrity and accessibility Investigate s citizen complaints regarding potential air quality violations within required timelines. Conducts field observations, documents findings clearly, determines compliance status, and takes appropriate action to ensure issues are properly addressed and resolved Review s facility records, monitoring data, test results , compliance verifications, and other documentation to verify compliance. Evaluate s the accuracy and consistency of self-reported information against inspection findings and regulatory requirements Advises and educates the public and industry about environmental air quality issues, regulations, policies, safety, and compliance Reviews and comments on proposed permit conditions for applicability and enforceability .
