Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of readiness and contingency planning principles, concepts, and directives as they pertain to deployment operations, war reserve material management, base/expeditionary reception and support, re-deployment, mobility bags, air terminal operations and support agreements; and knowledge of security, safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws, and regulations related to security and the safety program, risk assessment methods, and techniques for evaluating security and occupational safety and health risks pertaining to deployments, base support, and ware materials. NOTE: Must be reflected in your resume. OR EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a wide range of logistics management operations in supply and transportation policies, practices, and techniques including knowledge of military and commercial transportation programs, storage and materials equipment policies, preservation, packaging, and cargo movement and materiel management. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Ability to plan, organizes, and directs the functions and mentor, motivate, and apprise the staff of an organization. 4. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, makes appropriate judgments, and evaluates options concerning cargo movement and materiel management. 5. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. 6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct a small sized organization. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: 1. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. 2. Position will not be assigned additional duties such as Unit Deployment Manager (UDM) or Unit Control Center that conflict with their primary duties. 3. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA). 4. Position requires the incumbent to obtain and retain a minimum secret security clearance. 5. The incumbent may be required to fly in military and /or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY). 6. May be required to work overtime and extended tours of duty to meet special workload demands. 7. Use of personal protective equipment is used as needed or required. 8. Incentive for Student Loan Repayment Program may be offered. 9. Superior Qualification incentive may be authorized for this position.
