Job Summary: The Cardiovascular Perfusionist conducts extracorporeal circulation and ensures the safe management of physiologic functions during any medical procedure in which it is necessary to artificially support or temporarily replace a patient's circulatory or respiratory functions, such as in open heart surgery or other heart procedures. The incumbent in this position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of MWHC Health System and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, associates and the public. Flexible work days and schedule Excellent work-life balance Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Support the Cardiovascular team during medical procedures by Selecting appropriate equipment and techniques to be used during procedures, in consultation with the physician Administering blood products, medications and controlling the temperature of patients during surgery. Monitoring equipment during surgical procedures, making adjustments as needed to ensure proper blood pressure and flow during the surgery Purchasing equipment and supplies as necessary Participating in quality improvement initiatives
