Responsibilities

  • Casework - Engagement & Assessment
  • 1.1 Engaging CYP and significant others (e.g. family, caregivers, etc.) in a therapeutic manner to understand their needs

  • 2.3 Providing regular updates and reports to key programme stakeholders to facilitate decision making on case plans for the clients
  • 2.4 Completing all necessary documentation for all clients, including case reviews, discharge summaries and other ongoing records
  • Casework - Goal Setting & Intervention Plans
  • 3.1 Developing appropriate reunification case plans that is inclusive of the CYP and family's opinions
  • 3.2 Conceptualising and identifying appropriate approaches and other intervention strategies that achieve the overall case plan of each client such as timely reunification to the family and developing appropriate case plan for CYP
  • 3.3 Working closely with multi-disciplinary team and/ or agencies to deliver case plans
  • 3.4 Helping CYPs to develop and choose strategies and formulate viable plans
  • 3.5 Representing CYP in case conferences
  • 3.6 Effectively use approaches to ensure that the emotional, social, behavioural, developmental, therapeutic and educational needs of clients are met through the development, implementation and timely review of individual safety and care plans
  • 3.7 Identifying appropriate interpersonal skills to utilise when managing and responding to conflict to deescalate tension
  • 3.8 Applying appropriate interpersonal skills to develop professional and engaged relationship with other key programme stakeholders
  • 3.9 Negotiating with systems to ensure safe and timely step-down to community programmes
  • Professional Development and Education
  • 4.1 Reviewing and reflecting on own practices
  • 4.2 Engaging in supervision sessions with the SSF-R supervisor/ external supervisor
  • 4.3 Proactively soliciting feedback from others and using it to enhance individual performance and practices
  • 4.4 Understanding how diversity in the practice/client situation (e.g. culture, religion) impacts the programme and the ways practitioner should engage with the clients
  • 4.5 Attending professional development courses to acquire professional knowledge and skills

  • 5.1 Playing an active part in the evaluation of SSF-R and other therapeutic models and programmes

Requirements

  • Minimum degree in Social Work with minimum 2 years of related work experience
  • Demonstrates good knowledge in working with children, youth and families
  • Shows capability to manage issues of complex child welfare cases
  • Demonstrates understanding of reunification work, trauma, attachment and resilience theory, and child and adolescent development
  • Willingness to meet with families outside regular work hours and to attend to crises in a timely matter
  • Receptive to feedback from others with a willingness to improve and grow oneself
  • Takes pride in delivering high standard and quality of work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills - able to work individually and within a team, relate easily to other people, particularly children, and form positive working relationships
  • Ability to communicate in English and relevant local languages/dialects is an advantage for engaging with children, youth and families
