This Magnet-recognized hospital maintains a strong commitment to the communities it serves through blending compassionate patient care with exceptional medical expertise. Marymount Hospital's 4th floor team earned the AMSN Prism Award, a highly selective recognition of exceptional nursing practice and patient-centered care. The 4th floor includes three wings, 4 East, 4 West, and 4 South (Med/Surg and Telemetry), caring for a broad mix of medical and surgical patients, including those needing telemetry monitoring. Each wing has 12 beds, with most rooms private, and serves as the hospital's dedicated home for peritoneal dialysis patients (a specialty admitted only to our units). Supported by many tenured nurse preceptors, you'll build strong core skills and a standout foundation for your next step, including travel nursing and specialty roles, while delivering an exceptional patient experience through clear communication, comfort, and dignity. Day to day, you will develop a strong med-surg and telemetry foundation while caring for patients with complex needs and learning the focused workflows that support peritoneal dialysis. With guidance from tenured preceptors, you will strengthen head-to-toe assessment, prioritization, and patient education skills, and gain experience that transfers well to travel nursing and specialty paths. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. A caregiver in this position works rotating day/night shifts from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patients' conditions. Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs. Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross One-year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting Will consider licensed military RN experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) Physical Requirements: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
