Brandeis University Education Program seeks to hire a part-time lecturer to teach ED 285 Action Research for Teacher Leaders ONLINE in Fall 2026 as part of a Masters Degree program in Teacher Leadership. This course is taught in the Fall semester of a hybrid program that involves in-person study on the Brandeis campus during two summers and online learning during the intervening school year. The purpose of the course is to introduce teacher leaders to action/practitioner research as a form of professional development and a tool for studying their own practice as teachers and teacher leaders. The course lays a conceptual and practical foundation in action/practitioner research and supports students in transforming a problem of practice related to their teaching into a researchable question. ED 285 includes both synchronous and asynchronous learning and is followed by a Spring semester course in which students do a study of their work as facilitators of teacher learning in their schools. Candidates should have an advanced degree in education and experience teaching action/practitioner research to teachers in a preservice or professional development program. Familiarity with Jewish day schools is helpful but not required. This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509. The compensation for this course is $6,573.15. Pay Range Disclosure The University's pay ranges represent a good faith estimate of what Brandeis reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. The pay offered to a selected candidate during hiring will be based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience and education/training, internal peer equity, and applicable legal requirements. Equal Opportunity Statement Brandeis University is an equal opportunity employer which does not discriminate against any applicant or employee on the basis of race, color, ancestry, religious creed, gender identity and expression, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, age, genetic information, disability, caste, military or veteran status or any other category protected by law (also known as membership in a "protected class").
