ASIC Engineer Co-op (Sept 2026, 4 Months)

About the role

4 month work term: September 2026 - December 2026 How You Will Contribute: The DSP ASIC development team is seeking an enthusiastic co-op candidate to help with design and verification activities for leading-edge ASICs targeting the WaveLogic family of products. You will work within a team of designers, verification engineers and architects. Possible tasks include: Design: Assist with module coding, optimization, tool-related infrastructure Verification: Functional testing of design blocks, environment development Flow Improvements: Coding scripts, common components to improve team productivity The Must Haves: Working towards completion of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent Foundational knowledge of circuit design and digital logic Demonstrated proficiency with OOP coding in C++, Python, or other programming language Assets: Experience with: Hardware design using Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL Scripting DSP Pay Range: The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00 Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
