Responsibilities

This position is responsible for sourcing third-party data used in insurance underwriting and claims, including development and execution of category strategies. Data categories include but are not limited to credit reports, motor vehicle records, loss history, and other external risk signals that support informed business decisions. The role partners closely with underwriting, claims, legal, privacy, and technology teams to understand business needs, evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate service levels and usage rights, and support compliance with regulatory and policy requirements. Third-party data is critical to accurate risk assessment, operational efficiency, and profitable growth. Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience purchasing and managing third-party data used in underwriting, claims, or risk management. Strong knowledge of data licensing agreements, usage rights, and contractual obligations related to external data. Experience negotiating with data providers and managing supplier performance. Understanding of regulatory, privacy, and compliance considerations associated with third-party data. Ability to evaluate data sources and align data acquisition strategies with business objectives. This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program. This role is hybrid to the Columbus OH offices, anticipated to be in the office once or twice a week.
