The Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) / OB-GYN Sonographer performs advanced obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations in a high-volume academic fetal imaging center, with a focus on high-risk pregnancies, prenatal diagnosis, fetal anomalies, fetal growth assessment, multiple gestations, Doppler studies, and fetal echocardiography. The sonographer works closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians and multidisciplinary specialists to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging and patient care. Essential Functions - Perform comprehensive first-, second-, and third-trimester ultrasound examinations, including detailed fetal anatomy surveys, fetal biometry, cervical length assessment, fetal surveillance, multiple gestations, biophysical profiles, and Doppler studies. - Obtain high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with departmental and professional guidelines. - Recognize fetal, placental, and maternal abnormalities and promptly communicate urgent findings to the supervising physician. - Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided prenatal diagnostic procedures, including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS). - Ensure accurate documentation and timely transfer of images to PACS and reporting systems. - Participate in quality assurance, educational, and academic activities, including support of trainees when applicable. - Maintain ultrasound equipment and a professional clinical environment.
