About the role As a Senior Lecturer in Secondary ITE, you will take a leadership role within our PGCE Secondary provision, contributing to programme design, teaching and assessment across campus based and partnership settings. You will work closely with colleagues, schools and external partners to ensure our trainees receive a rigorous, supportive and inspiring route into the profession. This role combines excellent teaching, academic leadership, scholarship and knowledge exchange, with opportunities to contribute to School and Faculty strategy and quality enhancement. What you will be doing Leading and delivering engaging, research informed teaching across the Secondary Initial Teacher Education programme. Designing and delivering assessment and learning materials that inspire and challenge trainee teachers to develop high-quality knowledge and skills. Supporting, mentoring and monitoring trainee progress and professional development. Contributing to programme leadership, quality assurance and enhancement processes as a subject specialist expert. Supporting recruitment, admissions and partnership working with schools and sector organisations. Undertaking scholarship, knowledge exchange or publication aligned to your expertise. Playing an active role in the wider academic life of the University through committees and academic leadership. Who we're looking for You will bring: A relevant first degree with QTS or QTLS (a higher degree is desirable). Successful experience of teaching secondary Computing (maths is desirable) Strong knowledge of secondary education and Initial Teacher Education The ability to lead, collaborate and support colleagues and students A student centred, reflective and forward-thinking approach to teacher education £44,128 to £55,755 pro rata
