About the role

You will serve as a MUSEUM SPECIALIST (HISTORY) of NAVAL HISTORY AND HERITAGE COMMAND. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Cataloging and accessioning historical artifacts, storing, cleaning, photographing and marking of artifacts; 2) Preparing collections and objects for storage and shipment, and conducting inventories and implementing inventory controls; and 3) Planning and rearranging storage spaces, revising operating procedures and devising improved storage/preservation methods. GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Cataloging and inventorying of artifacts; 2) Storing and housing of artifacts; and 3) Performing research assistant duties to support Museum Curators and Historians Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
