Position Summary The Senior Manager, Financial Systems serves as a key member of the Financial Systems team and is responsible for the administration, support, optimization, and ongoing evolution of HUB's financial technology applications. This role partners closely with Finance, TechOps, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure financial platforms are stable, controlled, scalable, and aligned with business priorities. The position will initially have primary responsibility for the BlackLine application and related close and reconciliation processes while also supporting broader Financial Systems initiatives, governance activities, and platform optimization efforts.
Responsibilities
- Application Ownership & Administration
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for BlackLine.
- Manage application configuration, security, user access, and system maintenance activities.
- Coordinate application upgrades, testing, and release activities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
- Support & Operations
- Provide functional support for BlackLine and related financial systems processes.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and external vendors.
- Develop and maintain support documentation, procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, controls, and user experience.
- Lead enhancement initiatives and support implementation of new functionality.
- Partner with Finance leadership to align system capabilities with evolving business needs.
- Governance & Controls
- Support SOX, audit, and compliance requirements related to financial systems.
- Assist with user access reviews, segregation of duties assessments, and system governance activities.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of configurations, processes, and controls.
- Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a liaison between Finance, TechOps, and third-party vendors.
- Manage vendor relationships and support engagements.
- Collaborate across Finance and TechOps to prioritize enhancements and resolve issues.
- Strategic Initiatives
- Participate in Financial Systems roadmap development and execution.
- Support platform assessments, standardization efforts, and future modernization initiatives.
- Contribute to broader Financial Systems operating model and governance framework development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience supporting financial systems, ERP, EPM, close management, or related applications.
- Strong experience administering and supporting BlackLine.
- Understanding of accounting and financial close processes.
- Experience partnering with Finance, Accounting, and IT organizations.
- Experience managing vendors and third-party support providers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion, HFM, Workiva, or other financial applications.
- Experience supporting public company, SOX, or IPO-readiness environments.
- Experience leading system enhancements, implementations, or optimization initiatives.
- Experience working in complex, multi-business-unit organizations.
