As a Senior Software engineer with U.S. Threat Operations team, you will work with the information security teams to help defend Ivanti and its resources from threats foreign and domestic, enforce safe computing standards and policies, and be part of larger incident response teams as well as support Threat Operations daily activities and functions. The primary focus of this position in Information Security is to create workload automation and internal applications while collaborating with internal stakeholders, IT, and product engineering teams to improve the security posture of Ivanti. You will be expected to work with a team of analysts and engineers to develop tools and play a key role in supporting response activities, while also participating in daily Threat Operations functions.
Responsibilities
- Provide security automation and application development expertise for the whole of information security to further the goal of defending Ivanti from all threats.
- Bring substantial knowledge in programming and application development to support the organization as a whole.
- Assist in detection and alerting through various security tools based on current events, research, and needs of the information security team.
- Support the implementation of new security tools and infrastructure as code, as required.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security standards and practices.
- Support audit and continuous monitoring projects to ensure systems are operating properly and assist in maintaining Ivanti's various certifications.
- Self-direct and operate with reduced oversight in day-to-day tasks.
- Observe day-to-day operations and devise and implement improvements to processes and technologies that increase our efficiency and security.
- Evaluate new technologies and processes that enhance security capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and address identified vulnerabilities and other security issues.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and developments in cloud security and related technologies and apply best practices to ongoing workflows.
- To Be Successful in The Role, You Will Have:
- An understanding of cloud computing concepts and a familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, along with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes ).
- Familiarity with common security vulnerabilities, threats, and attack vectors.
- 3+ years of experience with the following:
- Software engineering languages and full stack development ( Go , Python , Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, OAuth, SAML, REST APIs, etc.)
- Hands-on experience building backend services, APIs, databases, or other internal tools.
