Your part in The Wesley Hospital team Working as a Chef in our Food Services culinary team you will: Be provided with opportunities for culinary growth Produce upmarket cuisine by catering for executive functions and events Work in a hotel style room service kitchen operation Be able to apply your transferrable skillset from hospitality to the security of a career in the Healthcare sector Have the opportunity to be a recognised member of the Institute of Hospitality in Healthcare Casual contracts will be offered however hours usually available from 16 hours per week with regular opportunities to increase hours for those who wish to do so. What makes a difference for us? Be part of our qualified chef brigade producing up to 1400 meals per day. Using your communication skills, you'll work effectively with your team and demonstrate: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery minimum of two years post-apprenticeship experience or equivalent Excellent time management skills Previous Chef experience working the hospitality sector; restaurants, food outlets, cafes Flexibility to rotate within the main production kitchen sections A professional attitude with excellent personal presentation Be proficient in all aspects of food safety Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HACCP principles and PPE requirements Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent skills from previous experience Great communication skills and excellent attention to detail Understanding of Australian food and beverage standards Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies What makes a difference for you?
