The House of Commons' Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to create a pool of candidates for anticipatory staffing of the Intermediate and Senior Digital Product Developer roles. This recruitment and selection process is restricted to Digital Services and Real Property employees. The Intermediate and Senior Digital Product Developer contributes to the design, development, integration, and lifecycle management of the mission-critical physical security technologies that safeguard the Parliamentary Campus. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, the role ensures alignment with organizational standards, best practices, and strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include executing testing and automation plans, supporting deployment, and conducting troubleshooting and root-cause analysis. Developers are responsible for drafting and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and user adoption materials, ensuring products meet business outcomes and organizational needs. The Senior Digital Product Developer additionally provides technical leadership, strategic advice, and governance to guide complex digital initiatives and influence physical security product roadmaps. This role is accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle management of high-complexity physical security systems and integrated IoT or Smart Building products. The Senior Developer drives technical decision-making, mentors peers, and ensures adherence to enterprise architecture and governance frameworks. Work-life balance /35-hour workweek 4 weeks' vacation (minimum) Education: Graduation from a college or technical institute in the area of information technology, electrical engineering, or other related fields, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience in the field of technology. Experiences for Both Roles: Experience designing, configuring, integrating, and supporting enterprise physical security technologies, including access control, video management, screening/scanning, identity management, critical communications, and intercom systems; Experience providing technical guidance and support for product design, operational readiness, and deployments; Experience developing and executing testing procedures to validate product configurations, firmware updates, and system integrations; Experience coordinating product deployment, upgrade, and lifecycle activities, including operational readiness and implementation support; Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, including configuration procedures, maintenance schedules, and user guides. Additional Experiences for the Senior Digital Product Developer: Experience providing strategic advice, technical recommendations, and briefings to management on complex, mission-critical products and initiatives; Experience leading lifecycle planning for mission-critical physical security products, including vulnerability management (CVEs), firmware/software maintenance, licensing, and performance monitoring; Experience establishing and overseeing technical standards, configuration baselines, and documentation requirements; Experience contributing to product roadmaps, enterprise architecture standards, and governance frameworks to support long-term product strategy. Asset: Experience assessing emerging technologies and industry trends, and running proofs-of-concept to inform strategic technology decisions. The salary for the Intermediate Digital Product Developer (ADG-D) position is $86,010 - $108,829. The salary for the Senior Digital Product Developer (ADG-C) position is $98,093 - $124,115.
