About the role

Solution Architect (Ref.No. R1013112) at our location in Singapore Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Solution Architect with strong experience in designing and delivering end-to-end technology solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across application, data, platform, and infrastructure domains, combined with solid leadership capabilities. This role is responsible for defining scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures for asset management and predictive maintenance solutions, while providing technical leadership to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery. The candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust solutions and drive the advancement of Hitachi Rail's HMAX initiatives. You will enjoy having these responsibilities: Design end-to-end solution architecture across applications, data platforms, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performance technical solutions. Define application and data architectures, including integration of analytics and predictive models. Establish IT infrastructure strategy (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) ensuring scalability, availability, and cost efficiency. Working with Cyber Security expert to embed cybersecurity principles (IAM, data protection, secure design) into all solution layers. Design system integration using APIs, data pipelines, and interoperability frameworks. Enable data and analytics capabilities, including support for predictive and data-driven use cases. Provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle (design, build, deploy, operate). Ensure governance and compliance with architecture standards, security, and best practices. Collaborate with stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on technology and solution strategy. You have: Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related field. Possesses 5-10 years of experience in software development and solution architecture, with a strong track record of designing and delivering scalable technology solutions. Strong experience in solution architecture across applications, data platforms, and IT infrastructure layers. Proven expertise in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including cloud-native and hybrid architectures. Hands-on knowledge of programming, containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices-based architecture. Solid understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns (APIs, messaging, streaming). Experience with data platforms and analytics ecosystems, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time/stream processing. Familiarity with DevOps and MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated deployments. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure architecture design, including Identity and access management (IAM), Network security and segmentation, Data encryption and protection Understanding of IT infrastructure components: compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and edge environments. Experience in designing high availability, scalable, and resilient systems. Good understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks. Exposure to asset management, operational systems, or data-driven solutions is an advantage. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with experience engaging cross-functional stakeholders. Relevant degree (Computer Science, Engineering, IT) or equivalent practical experience. Proficiency in Italian would be an advantage for communication with Italian-speaking stakeholders.
