About the role
Post Summary : The School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Physiology. Applications are sought from candidates with proven potential for research and teaching excellence. The successful applicant will be a full member of the academic staff in the School and of the Discipline of Physiology. They will work with other academic staff, technical staff, administrative staff, researchers, and students in a collaborative and international environment for research and scholarly endeavours. They will be able to avail of state-of-the-art facilities offered by the School and the Trinity Biomedical Research Institute (TBSI) and Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience (TCIN). The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the Discipline and the School of Medicine. The appointee will be expected to contribute to interdisciplinary curricular teaching, supervision, and mentoring. Candidates will have a proposed research programme that complements and strengthens existing initiatives in the School of Medicine and the Discipline of Physiology. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to engage and contribute to undergoing research initiatives in the School of Medicine and the affiliated research institutes and centres. Qualifications Excellent academic record and have completed a Ph.D. in Physiology or closely related area (Essential) Academic publications in peer reviewed international journals and/or publications of equal standing of recognised originality and value (Essential). Post status: Tenure Track - This position is Tenure Track position which is 5-years in the first instance, permanency is subject to satisfying the tenure requirements. Hours of Post: Hours of work for academic staff are those as prescribed under Public Service Agreements.
