It demands a balance of engineering expertise, leadership, and maintenance management skills to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. While this role coordinates and oversees the activities of the maintenance and safety areas and operating workers such as Maintenance Technicians, Shift Mechanics and others as needed, it is also responsible for operational objectives by contributing information and analysis for strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementation of production, productivity and quality. The role combines the technical expertise of process engineering with the operational leadership of maintenance management. This role ensures that manufacturing processes run efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime, while maintaining equipment reliability and compliance with quality and safety standards. KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, optimize, and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, output, and quality. Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and waste opportunities. Design and implement new equipment, systems, or process changes. Conduct experiments and tests to troubleshoot production issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop safety protocols and quality standards. Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes and procedures. Provide technical training to production and maintenance staff. Apply continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to drive operational excellence. Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for process equipment. Maintain a critical equipment database and preventive maintenance schedules. Manage third-party maintenance contracts, including contractor safety oversight. Define and maintain spare parts requirements and stock levels. Develop and manage technical documentation archives. Coordinate maintenance work orders and cost control systems. Implement and monitor maintenance resourcing (outsourced or in-house). Participate in operations meetings to align maintenance priorities with production schedules. Ensure compliance with regulatory inspections and industry standards. Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement as well as standard work procedures. Supervises maintenance personnel in maintaining machines and equipment. Plans and maintains maintenance schedules. Set priorities for repair of the molds, as needed. Evaluate downtime and efficiency reports to determine productivity levels and other areas requiring special attention. Coordinate efforts with other groups in maintenance and scheduling. Keep Shift Supervisors and maintenance personnel informed on pertinent activities and information Enforce Company policies. Staff department as needed. Monitor and approve all activities performed by the Maintenance Department. Responsible for ensuring the compliance with product safety guidelines. Responsible to ensure all employees are properly trained on Amcor LSB's and all other safety procedures that apply to the department. Responsibilities and Authority include assuring compliance with federal, state, government and/or any appropriate regulatory law or guidelines. Provides technical advice and training to production and maintenance personnel. Manages the installation of new and used equipment. Coordinates new automation equipment with production personnel.
