Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Vocational / Technical Degree in Medical Related Field (Preferred)
• Work Experience
• 1 - 2 years Direct patient care experience in hospital setting & nbsp; (Required)
• 0 - 1 year Unit Secretary skills & nbsp; (Preferred)
• Licenses and Certifications
• Required Certifications/Licensures:
• Basic Life Support (BLS),
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or EMT
• Essential Functions
• TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT USE:
• Demonstrates technical skill in using equipment appropriate for role.
• Understands equipment operation.
• Maintains equipment in working order. Troubleshoots equipment problems.
• Uses technology to increase productivity. Adapts to new technology
• CARE PROCESSES:
• Treats patients and families with compassion and implements plan of care.
• Bases care decisions on plan of care.
• Monitors and documents patient response.
• Establishes rapport with clients. Adapts communication style, listens and responds to patient needs.

• DOCUMENTATION:
• Documents and submits required information and data in a timely fashion.
• Clearly and accurately documents designated processes, policies, products, service offerings, etc.
• Ensures that documentation is tailored to expected readers / users.
• Conforms to required style and format.
• Uses correct terminology.
• CRITICAL CARE TECHNICIAN PATIENT CARE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists nurse with providing direct care to Critical Care patients.
• Comply with established scope of practice. Adhere to department, unit, & hospital policies
• Perform clerical support functions to include computer/manual diagnostic order entry, complete and log consult physician pages, perform inpatient bed request/assignment and communication, monitor and direct response to unit based nurse call communication system
• Report & update RN & document patient information in the medical record
• Receive assignment & assist in care of patients as directed. Complete required rounding & assessments on assigned patients
• Maintain patient rights & confidentiality of patient information
• Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives & maintain good employee interdepartmental & public relations
• Maintain clean, orderly, safe environment for patients & personnel
• Follow established routines & utilize supplies & equipment in a cost-effective manner
• Work directly with RN/charge nurse in managing patient throughput
• Check & record patient's vital signs, communicate with RN

• Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.
• Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization.
• Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs).
• Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
• Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
• For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
• Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
