The Fisher Laboratory in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Wesleyan University seeks a full-time Research Technician. Reporting to the Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, the Research Technician will join an NIH-funded research group dedicated to investigating the structure and function of bacterial proteins involved in copper homeostasis and transcriptional regulation. Responsibilities include: Execute research projects using standard techniques in molecular biology and biochemistry (protein expression and purification, gel electrophoresis, biochemical and biophysical assays) Maintain a detailed lab notebook documenting all experimental work Maintain inventory records and purchase supplies Supervision of undergraduate work-study students Other duties as assigned This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain hands-on research experience, learn new methods, publish and present research, and join a community of scientists in the life sciences at Wesleyan University.
