We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. Reporting to the Director - Investment Operations, Risk and Analytics, you will be responsible for core accounting functions and ensuring accurate representation in financial reports. Core responsibilities include: Maintain and track investment commitments and execute related cash transactions, in a timely fashion, for capital calls and distributions. members. Monitor cash accounts for timely scheduling and disbursement of wire transfers. Process vendor payments in general ledger system and assure timely disbursement. Participate in gathering information and preparing analyses in support of annual financial audit. Support investment team by providing timely and accurate responses to information requests. Computing valuations for the investment portfolio and posting accounting entries (capital activity, valuation change, etc.) within the ledger. Assist with managing the inflow of financial information from investment fund managers. Assist with the portfolio company tracking process in the investment accounting system. Assist with AI integration projects within the Investment Office. Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University. You should demonstrate: Knowledge of professional practice in financial accounting and reporting, internal controls, and external reporting. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze GAAP and IFRS financial documents. Ability to problem solve and gather/analyze information skillfully and efficiently. Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to analyze large data sets and identify patterns and gaps within the data. Team player approach to collaboration, strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, and a keen sense of prioritization and planning. Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills and high standards of professional ethics and integrity.
