Job Description: Position Summary Under the leadership of the department office supervisor, the unit receptionist (UR) performs duties related to scheduling and pre-registration for upcoming services to assure a smooth process for the patient. Duties include reviewing orders from physicians and assuring therapy is scheduled accordingly; providing clear and accurate instructions/information to patients regarding upcoming appointments; verifying insurance type and assuring required authorizations are in place for worker's compensation and state and county programs; entering complete and accurate data utilizing computer technology while ensuring existing data is accurate; and ensuring that therapist/physician schedules are as full and compactly scheduled as possible.
