About the role

The Laboratory Maintenance Branch provides the nation's premier federal aviation laboratory for advancing the United States National Airspace System (NAS) and sustaining its continued safe and efficient operations. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. To qualify for this position at the FV-H level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, FG/GS 5-9. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience is: Experience performing analysis, trouble shooting, system maintenance of hardware and/or software associated with National Airspace System Air Traffic Control systems. OR To qualify for this position at the FV-I level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS 10-12. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience is: Experience with defining, planning, and organizing data analysis, complex trouble shooting, repair and configurations of hardware and/or software associated with National Airspace System Air Traffic Control systems. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement. Applicants should provide examples of specialized experience in their work history. Interviews: The selecting official may decide to interview all, some or none of the candidates referred for consideration. This position is being filled at the FV-H or FV-I. Identification of multi grade/pay bands in the vacancy announcement does not constitute a commitment or an obligation on the part of management to promote the employee selected at some future date. Promotion will depend upon the selectee meeting training, qualification requirements, and recommendation by supervisor and organizational approval.
