Job Category: Limited Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Assistant Coach Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin's Cross Country/Track & Field Program is a combined men's and women's program. Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, the primary responsibility of this position is to assist in coaching student-athletes across track & field disciplines in accordance with NCAA, Big Ten, and University regulations. Key Job Responsibilities: Specific areas of responsibility include: Assisting with coaching student-athletes for the track and field / cross country program as assigned by the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Planning and leading practice sessions for assigned event groups Developing and implementing event-specific training and conditioning plans Supporting the development of student-athlete skills to maximize performance Assisting with recruiting prospective student-athletes across track & field disciplines Other areas of responsibility may include: Working directly with the program specialist for team travel arrangements including: Hotels, transportation, bus travel, van rental, per diem, and entry fees Collaborating with the in-house travel agent for team air travel Procuring travel advancements and reconciling travel expense reimbursements Other duties as assigned by the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Department: Wisconsin Athletics, Track & Field and Cross Country
