The Distinguished Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and modernization of enterprise workflow experiences. With a deep expertise in ServiceNow, front-end engineering, product engineering, and process optimization, this role will serve as a hands-on technical leader responsible for creating scalable, intuitive, and high-impact digital workflow solutions that improve how business users, operations teams, and technology teams work across the enterprise. How you will make an impact: - Will partner closely with product, design, business units, platform teams, and enterprise architecture to simplify complex processes, improve user experience, and deliver modern workflow-enabled products. - Architect and deliver scalable, resilient AI solutions leveraging technologies such as agentic systems, large language models (LLMs), distributed systems, and event-driven architectures. - Define enterprise-wide technical direction, including architecture patterns, integration standards, and reusable platform capabilities. - Lead AI-driven modernization of legacy systems through automated code transformation, service decomposition, and continuous optimization. - Design and implement AI-enabled software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices to improve engineering velocity and quality. - Establish technical standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for AI systems, including monitoring, evaluation, and responsible AI. - Collaborate with UX, product management, engineering, operations, architecture, security, compliance, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable product experiences. - Partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to enable adoption of AI-assisted development and drive continuous improvement in system performance and productivity. - Lead modernization of legacy workflow tools, forms, portals, manual processes, and fragmented user experiences into streamlined digital products. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship while influencing enterprise technology decisions through deep expertise and hands-on engineering options, and strategic recommendations for AI investments. Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and a minimum of 15 years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems and large-scale architecture, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience delivering production-grade AI/ML systems at scale, building agentic systems or complex LLM-based applications, modernizing large, complex legacy systems, and delivering high-quality systems also required. Strong programming expertise in Python, Java, or similar required. Experience with APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures, cloud platforms, and CI/CD and DevOps practices required. Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences: - Experience designing and building user-centered enterprise products, including portals, dashboards, self-service experiences, case management tools, service catalogs, workflow interfaces, and operational applications is preferred. - Experience building workflow-enabled applications using enterprise workflow platforms, automation tools, low-code/no-code platforms, or business process management technologies is preferred. - Experience with ServiceNow platform capabilities such as workflow automation, App Engine, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Service Portal or custom application development is preferred. - Experience implementing integrations with enterprise systems through REST APIs, web services, event-driven integrations, middleware, cloud platforms, and enterprise data services is preferred. - Hands-on experience building prototypes, proof of concepts, reusable UI components, workflow accelerators, reference implementations, and production-quality application components is preferred. - Strong understanding of product engineering practices, including user research, journey mapping, backlog management, experimentation, metrics, telemetry, feedback loops, and iterative delivery is preferred. - Familiarity with AI-enabled workflow automatio
