About the role

The Cargo Mission Manager (CMM) with the Mission Integration and Operations Office ensures end-to-end integration, verification, and safe delivery of cargo required to sustain ISS operations, crew health, technology, and research objectives. You will directly support mission-essential services by coordinating cargo readiness, resolving technical issues, and enabling real-time decision-making across spacecraft providers, engineering teams, and operations personnel. In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Managing cargo delivery and return operations, mission integration activities, and research execution efforts to ensure safe and successful ISS mission operations; Coordinating with ISS, commercial cargo, and commercial crew associated responsibilities, operations plans, procedures, policies, and facilities related to cargo delivery and return; and Leading technical teams and administrative support in the planning, preparation, and execution of significant space missions relating to cargo delivery and return.
