Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong commitment to personal safety, environmental awareness, and compliance with company safety procedures and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain, and repair pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation and analytical equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on low-voltage electrical systems up to 480VAC, including motor controls, control valves, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Read and interpret SWDs, P&IDs, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and ladder logic to diagnose and resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Complete repair history, calibration records, modifications, and work order documentation accurately within the CMMS system and related software.
  • Conduct installation, calibration, testing, and minor field design work for electrical and instrumentation systems, including conduit and tubing installation.
  • Support plant operations through preventive maintenance, functional testing, factory acceptance testing, and communication of abnormal operating conditions.
  • Provide technical assistance and safety oversight for contractors while ensuring compliance with site procedures and standards.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • NCCER Industrial Electrical and/or Instrumentation certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an I&E Technician in a chemical plant, refinery, or similar industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with DCS and SIS systems preferred, along with strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E and safe electrical work practices in industrial environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform root cause analysis, and apply strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with I&E hand tools, meters, calibration equipment, and interpreting P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams.
  • Strong organizational, planning, computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations as needed to support plant operations.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders/heights, working in confined spaces, wearing respiratory protection, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
