The Accounting Analyst books financial transactions, prepares account reconciliations and analyzes results on a U.S. Statutory and U.S. GAAP basis in addition to preparing reporting to meet regulatory needs and contractual obligations. Additionally, they will be responsible for managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to auditors, financing partners and regulators. The individual will participate in the year-end planning process and periodic analysis of plan to actual variances. This person will enjoy opportunities to participate in development, implementation and management of financing transactions and retrocessions, and to see the 360 degree of entity management, interaction as part of a cross functional group. Principle Duties: Performs month-end and quarter-end financial reporting functions for the business unit, area or function, which may include any or all of the following: preparation of general ledger uploads; reconciling various ledger accounts; updating, reconciling and recording financial results; analysis, compiling and reporting of data based on a US GAAP and Statutory basis; reconciliation of various accounts Works with other functional and corporate areas in RGA to achieve accuracy, efficiency, and effective accounting practices and procedures and responds to requests from other functional areas on various inquiries. Assists with report development and/or updates; addresses financial reporting related questions raised by business unit, area, or function. Shares technical expertise with others; recommends process improvements, provides functional advice and/or training as needed. Serves as liaison to other business units, areas and functions as needed. Maintains SOX documentation and provides as needed; may assist with year-end audit and other internal audits as needed. Assists with annual budget and planning, process and analysis. Responsible for ensuring contractual obligations for all assigned transactions are met and will serve as a primary contact to third-party financing partners
